The Kingdom Code - Make & Manage Money... God's Way!
Lately, living small has taken off BIG TIME! We're living in the days of tiny houses, capsule wardrobes, and minimalism. And you know what? I am absolutely on-board with these space-saving trends! I won't be moving into a tiny home any time soon, but our family is definitely cutting back on the clutter since we will be moving out of the country soon.
As we've been downsizing, one issue we've run into is our little one's stuff. She has a lot of it, and she just had a birthday and received even more stuff! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate every gift my daughter has been given. We are blessed to be loved by so many people, but it will make it a more difficult task when we have to decide what things of hers to keep and what to part with. I had a friend recommend space-saving gift experiences rather than gifts that take-up space. That idea is just genius! I won't be requesting experience gifts from friends and family, but it's a great idea for giving to other kids for their birthdays or other holidays! What parents wouldn't love opportunities to make memories with their kids, but not have to shell out the cash for it?
Day trip, anyone? This is a perfect gift for the younger kids that can easily fill up a day without a lot of cash spent.
This idea does take-up a little space, but not much! And books! How can you say no to books? They're educational and require a lot less space than other gift options.
I love this idea! Movies have gotten expensive… a lot of families can't afford to pay the hefty price tag to take the whole family for a cinema experience. A movie pass for each of the kiddos would be a wonderful gift.
This gift idea is on the more expensive side, but it is an option if you're looking for a bigger gift.
In our small town, summer pool passes are CHEAP! Plus, what kid wouldn't want to be able to go to the pool as much as he/she wants, all summer long!?
This gift could be for the older kids or maybe even for the younger ones. Kids love those fun, interactive science museums.
I remember going to make and paint pottery with my grandma when I was younger. It was a blast!
These paint classes are all the rage right now. Make it a family event and pay for the whole family. This would be such a thoughtful gift for the artistic kids.
As a music teacher, I know this is a popular gift item, but it should only be for the kids that are genuinely interested and ready to take music lessons or dance classes. For those interested kids, it could be a dream come true!
Having worked at an old soda bottling plant, I have first-hand knowledge on how great a gift this can be. Kids loved coming to tour the bottling line.
Who doesn't love putt-putt or bowling?! What a great present for a young person!
My daughter recently got a gift card to one of the build-your-own frozen yogurt shops, and she loved it! She got to get as much frozen yogurt as she wanted and pick all of the toppings herself… she was in heaven!
For the adventurous kids or teens, this would be an incredible gift! A fantastic memory that would last a lifetime!
This would be another great family gift for Christmas or another special occasion. A lot of bigger cities have group Escape Rooms that require team work to solve a mystery and escape a fantasy situation. Murder Mystery Train Rides are another option for team work among family or friends. Another great memory maker gift!
Every kid loves a game or two of laser tag. This could be a great Saturday or summer day outing.
